Benefits of Dua not being accepted

We humans have certain needs and requirements for which we we ask Allah to fulfill them. We make dua after every prayer or in some difficulties. Sometimes the dua gets answered by Allah and we get what we wanted, but sometimes dua is not answered. We should never feel disappointed because there are great benefits for dua not being accepted.

Benefits of dua not being accepted

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) informed us that when a Muslim makes dua for anything from Allah, except for the severance of ties with relatives or for a sinful thing then he definitely receives one out of the following three things:

  1. Either he gets the exact same thing for which he made dua.
  2. Or Allah removes him from great calamity in exchange for that which he desired.
  3. Or the reward of that dua is kept deposited for him in the Hereafter.

It means that if we do not get what we asked in dua then Allah either removes us from our difficulties and calamities, or we shall get its reward in the Hereafter.

On the day of judgement Allah will call his servant and say to him, "O My servant, I used to command you to ask of me I had promised to answer. Did you beg of Me?" The servant will answer, "Yes I did". Then Allah shall reply, "You did not put forth any request which had not been accepted. You made dua that a certain calamity should be removed, which I did for you in the worldly life. You made dua that a certain sorrow should be case off you and the effect of that sorrow was even known to you. For that I have fixed for you such and such a reward".

On the day of judgement, a person will be reminded for each and every he made and how much dua is fulfilled in the world and how much is stored for rewards in Hereafter. Upon seeing this he shall wish that not a single dua of his should have been answered on earth, so that he could receive the full rewards only in the Hereafter.

Try to understand that our life in this world is just a test and this is not forever. Everyone has to taste the death. We have to prepare ourselves for Hereafter, which is everlasting. We should always make dua but never be disappointed if it is not fulfilled, we shall get its reward in Hereafter.
